The Institute for Christian Socialism is publishing its first digital and print issue!
We welcome submissions from writers, artists, and organizers whose work dwells at the intersection of socialist commitments, faith, and hope.
Send ICS your best personal and theological essays, art, poetry, creative fiction, critical reviews of books and culture, movement dispatches, and reflections that grapple with the intersection of hope and radical politics in an age of capitalist and authoritarian despair.
This issue will gather work across three sections:
(1) Arts & Culture
(2) Church & Movement
(3) Theology & Thought
ICS is seeking pieces that explore radical hope in its many forms. What does it look like in our churches, workplaces, and classrooms? What does it sound like in the streets and union halls? What world should Christian socialists be striving to build, and what are the biblical and theological grounds for that hope?
Show us what hope looks like when it takes on flesh. Show us the glimmers of resurrection in everyday life. Show us sustainability and strength amid empire and despair.
Let this be a space for visions of the world as it could be: resolute and revolutionary. As Scripture says, “Against all hope, Abraham in hope believed.” (Romans 4:18)
Submit pitches and pieces here or by emailing us.
